Nina Tolksdorf

Nina Tolksdorf studied German Literature, Comparative Literature, and Philosophy at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Aberdeen. She received her PhD in German Literature from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2017 with the doctoral thesis “Precarious Sincerity. Nietzsche – Kleist – Kafka,” in which she discusses the possibility of a performative concept of sincerity.

In 2014-15 she was a fellow of the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies. At the Johns Hopkins University, she taught German language courses from introductory to advanced levels, as well as literature courses on “Taking Risks in Literature” and on representations of the Holocaust.

She has published two articles on Friedrich Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra.
