Magdalena Taube

Magdalena Taube is a Berlin based journalist and researcher. She earned an MA, summa cum laude, in German Literature and British/North American Studies (2009). She is currently a PhD candidate at Humboldt University Berlin with a research focus on digital journalism. Her doctoral research won several research grants from various German foundations.

In 2016 Magdalena was appointed Bucerius research fellow of the ZEIT foundation in Hamburg with a work focussing on Big Data and civil society. Magdalena is managing editor of the online magazine berlinergazette.de which won several media and journalism awards being one of the few digital publications in Germany that focus on civic journalism. Since 2010 Magdalena has been teaching digital literacy and journalism at Humboldt University Berlin, Leuphana University Lüneburg, Hokkaido University Sapporo and many more.
