Kerry Bystrom edits forum on “Oceanic Routes” (Comparative Literature)

Faculty member Kerry Bystrom and Isabel Hofmeyr (University of the Witwatersrand and New York University) co-edited a forum on “Oceanic Routes” in the March 2017 issue of the journal Comparative Literature.

The forum brings together scholars working on literary and cultural studies from or about the Global South to theorize the future directions of Oceanic Studies as a humanities field. Contributors look at cases from the 18th century to the present, and spanning topics from forgotten maritime maps of the British empire to Maori poetics of the ocean and artists creating submarine galleries.
