Faculty at conference on digital and visual culture in Istanbul

Faculty members Dr. Kerry Bystrom, Dr. Geoff Lehman, and Dr. Agata Lisiak joined other faculty representatives from across the Bard-HESP network (Al-Quds Bard, American University of Central Asia, the European Humanities University, Bard College and Smolny College) for the conference "Digital & Visual Culture in the Liberal Arts," which took place in Istanbul on March 15-18, 2015.

The three-day symposium focused on the institutional programming, individual and collaborative research, and best teaching practices related to digital and visual culture in the liberal arts environments of the participants’ geopolitical contexts. The goals included developing a community of like-minded colleagues that can connect digital and visual culture initiatives across the Bard network, and establishing tangible plans for future collaborations.

In the frame of the conference, the Bard College Berlin delegates participated in panels on "Close Encounters of the Digital Kind: Intimacy, Embodiment, Virality," "New Materialities of Representation" and "Personalizing Media Across Time and Space."
