Debate Outreach in Berlin

Student volunteers of the project organize outreach to high schools in the college's neighborhood and offer workshops to assist high school students in developing the skills and perspectives essential for creating a successful debate environment. The project aims (1) to give high school students a chance to interact with BCB's diverse student body and to develop their English and debating skills in an international and intellectual environment; (2) to provide the Bard College Berlin Politics, Rhetoric, and Debate Society (PRD) with experience in moderating debates and teaching debate strategies; (3) to create ties between the BCB community and local high schools in the Pankow and wider Berlin area.

The workshops are organized in assistance with the BCB Politics, Rhetoric, and Debate Society (PRD) as well as the Berlin Debate Union (BDU) at Humboldt University whose members can also provide instruction and assistance.
